Scope of Work:
In
April of 1998, Dumas Concepts In Building began $3,500,000 of
structural steel fabrication and erection services for the Greektown
Temporary Casino. Construction of the casino was complicated
with an aggressive schedule, lack of on-site space for materials
and equipment, busy downtown traffic patterns and concurrent
multiple trade activity.
Using
considerable experience in working with land-locked sites with
limited access, DCIB met the project challenges by developing
a sequencing plan to deliver the 25 ton beams that measured
85 feet long by 4 feet deep, while allowing other tradespeople
access to the project site. A 250-ton crawler crane was also
brought in to erect the 1200 tons of steel for the facility.
The
2-story addition to the Trapper's Alley building will provides
nearly 70,000 square feet of gaming and entertainment space.

Scope of Work:
In October of 1998, Dumas Concepts In Building was contracted
to provide $3,500,000 worth of steel fabrication and erection
services for the first temporary casino to open in Detroit,
the MGM Grand Casino. Coping with an extremely tight schedule
and winter weather conditions, DCIB fabricated and erected 495
tons of steel.
Besides
the challenges of the schedule and weather, the lack of accurate
drawings for the existing building made quick design changes
necessary to prevent erection slowdowns. The temporary casino
has 73,000 square feet of gaming space, speciality restaurants
and bars.
